I picked up a Benny mini-figure in one of the new Lego Movie 2 polybags. Seeing Benny again inspired me to rebuild one of my favorite sets from The Lego Movie, Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, Spaceship!.

This set is a timeless and incredibly fun build. It's retired, but if you ever have a chance to acquire it, don't hesitate. I have built this set over and over. It is always just as fun as it was the first time. This set has so many features and functions that add to the experience. One of my favorite features is the hatch on the back of the ship because, even though you can't fit in too many people, it’s really cool. I also enjoy the two little space ships you can attach to the sides because they are cute and fun for multiple adventures at once. The cockpit has enough room for three minifigures. Another neat feature is the engine that you can push in to extend the ship's wings and move the rubber missiles to the point where they can be fired. This brings me to my next compliment. I hate when missiles and things accidentally shoot when I don't want them to shoot. This set revolutionized that because it has space where the missiles are stored when the wings aren’t expanded. They don't fire because they have a little shield over them. I also like the small bots that come with this set because they are good to have as robo helpers if the ship is attacked and needs repair. The minifigures in this set are awesome! Space Wildstyle is really cool in blue. The Astro Kitty is really fun too. The robot Emmet is cool with his tinfoil disguise. Benny is a fun figure, although there is nothing about him that's too different from other versions. Lastly, the evil robot pilot is cool with its FlightGear over a business suit and fun helmet piece. My only criticism would be that the small black ship has nothing too spectacular about it. It is actually my biggest grievance of the set because the red laser elements often fall off. Overall I rate this as a five-star set.

Welcome to My Website

I can't remember a time when I didn't love Legos. I never get tired of talking about Legos or of comparing notes with people who are as enthusiastic about building as I am (if that's possible). I hope this site serves as a resource and as a source of inspiration for kids just starting to build their collection, as well as for master builders whose shelves are as full as mine.
