As Ninjago wraps up its final season, Lego is re-releasing some of its old sets. The Monastery of Spinjitzu is great because it gives you ALL of the ninjas and Master Wu.

Welcome back to the dojo! This set, in my opinion, is way better than the original due to its wider variety of features, minifigures, and all around play value. I was originally on the fence due to the fact this was an $80 set but, after building it, I was very pleased with my decision. One of my favorite features is the spinning wall that, on one side, had a plant and, on the other side, had the sword of fire. I liked it, in part, because the gear pieces worked together very smoothly. The small blade that comes out of the stairs was fun. I really liked how you could tuck it away when you didn’t want it out. One of the features I was a little let down by was the catapult function. Unfortunately, it usually took two tries to launch the chicken. This might have just been a user error, so don’t let it deter you from the set. Another nice touch was the mural sticker designs that show some of the ninjas’ greatest moments and villains. I also liked how it had a training and fruit cutting station for honing your ninja skills. A nice bonus was that you could push the two temple parts together and, even though they don’t click together, they still match very nicely. The original dojo lacked these features. It only had wall-mounted spinning gears, and only had a place to put one golden weapon but the current dojo has a place for each weapon. The ninja minifigures were very good. It was nice because this set had all of the ninjas and, even though season 10’s villains aren’t the skeletons, it was nice to have a skeleton with the set. Overall, I give this set a five out of five-star review because of all the play functions, figures, and great price per piece value. If you’re on the fence about this set, buy it. I doubt you’ll regret it.

Welcome to My Website

I can't remember a time when I didn't love Legos. I never get tired of talking about Legos or of comparing notes with people who are as enthusiastic about building as I am (if that's possible). I hope this site serves as a resource and as a source of inspiration for kids just starting to build their collection, as well as for master builders whose shelves are as full as mine.
