I received this set as a Christmas present. I probably wouldn't have picked out Lego's Parisian Restaurant for myself at the store but, wow, it was so much fun. I really enjoyed all of the small details.

This set is very, and I mean VERY, elaborate. I got this as a Christmas present from some of my family members and, at first, I really had doubts because it seemed like the kind of set you build to look pretty and not to play with. I personally love to play with sets and think that it isn’t fun to have a set you can’t interact with. This set completely blew me away and showed just how wrong I was. I’ll start with my least favorite part of this set, the figures. I, personally, was a little creeped out by the minifigures because they all had the same facial expression (a generic Lego headpiece). Over time, I’ve grown to be okay with this, but it still freaks me out a little. Now to my favorite parts of this set... I liked the second level most because it ties the building together in the way that the colors match the restaurant and the style matches the studio above it. Plus, the middle level has a nice Murphy bed (a bed that folds up against the wall when it’s not being used), plus a couple of different balconies, one in the front and one beneath the stairs on the back side, and a cute little kitchen area with a reclining chair. The first floor with the restaurant is really detailed. I like the kitchen space with blue and white tile flooring. The tables are fun with dark blue curtains and little lamps. I liked the little case on the wall full of little wine bottles, and the nice outdoor tables with a menu, small plant boxes, and a red awning above the door. Behind the restaurant, there isn’t much other than a few trash cans and a dumpster. The art studio on the top floor doesn't have a lot going. It primarily has an easel and a place to store paintings, opening back wall, and furnace. Though the top level is the least elaborate, the simplicity ties the building together. In all, I give this building a five-star review because of the amount of play and fun I’ve gotten out of this building. Though it’s pricey, I think it’s totally worth it.
